What was the last thing that made you laugh?

Posted on Jul 10th, 2007 by Editor Kate : Newswoman Editor Kate
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 10, 2007:

Well, I like to laugh a lot, but the last time I really REALLY laughed was a few nights ago when two of my great friends and I made chili from scratch and sat down and had dinner together.  While we were talking about some serious stuff at some points, I was so happy to be with people I love and enjoy.  When we were joking around and laughing, I was just completely happy!

I'm planning on going to New York City at the end of the year.  Beyond that, I'm going toward a very bright future, I think!

When was the last time you were surprised?

Posted on Jun 25th, 2007 by Editor Kate : Newswoman Editor Kate
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 24, 2007:

Last night, after a long and heartfelt conversation about life and love, my best friend told me I was his voice of reason.  I was surprised that he chose that to say... and that he found one of the best compliments he could ever give me.  It was just unexpected and meant the world to me.

If you had the support of everyone around you, what would you do?

Posted on Jun 4th, 2007 by Editor Kate : Newswoman Editor Kate
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 04, 2007:

Exactly what I'm doing now!! I've never been very reliant of having the support of those around me.  By the time I make a decision, I have already done my research, debated the issue, and made up my mind that I am doing what is in my best interests.  Sometimes I find that being surrounded by opposition is a good thing - it hardens my resolve and makes me continually reevaluate the situation so that I can reassure myself that I am making the best decisions possible.  So... I guess if I had the support of EVERYONE around me... I'd have to play devil's advocate!

What's your number one goal for today?

Posted on May 28th, 2007 by Editor Kate : Newswoman Editor Kate
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 28, 2007:

I'm just getting back from a vacation from work so my goal is pretty simple: stay awake and get back into real work mode!  This really is the best time to come back from a vacation - on a holiday Monday when nothing is happening.  I get to ease my way back into the rhythm after a long stream-of-consciousness week off.  Now... time for some serious coffee...

What do you love most about where you live?

Posted on May 16th, 2007 by Editor Kate : Newswoman Editor Kate
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 16, 2007:

I live in the middle of a city, 20 stories above the street.  I couldn't imagine a more wonderful place to live!  I love that things are always happening - I can look out my window and watch sky scrapers being built or walk down the street and see people pouring out of theaters after the performances.  I'll admit that having a half-dozen Starbucks within walking distance makes me VERY happy!  I like being able to walk to the nearby neighborhoods and find myself in a completely different atmosphere.  There's always someplace new to explore, a new restaurant to try, and more than enough to keep me busy for ten lifetimes!  And when the city quiets down at night, I like to sit on my roof and look at all of the hundreds of thousands of windows around me and think that in each and every one someone works, produces, thinks, and invents... it's like getting a close look at the internal components of a motor or motherboard.  It's fascinating.

What qualities do you seek in a partner?

Posted on May 15th, 2007 by Editor Kate : Newswoman Editor Kate
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 15, 2007:

Ambition, intelligence, a love of life, a good measure of introspection, and a view of the world similar to my own.  I really like the idea of a partner in the song "Stand By Me."  I don't believe in people completing people, because a person should first be complete and happy in himself.  But I do very much enjoy the idea of a partner who is going the same direction as I am and wants to enjoy traveling though life with me.  I'd like someone I can look to who reminds me of my own strength with the presence of his own.

Oh, and blue eyes!!!  =)

What section of the newspaper do you read first?

Posted on May 4th, 2007 by Editor Kate : Newswoman Editor Kate
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 04, 2007:

Love the question!!  =)  I skim the headlines on the cover first, and then read the stories of the most compelling ones.  I like "A" the best because you've got all of your top stuff there - national and local - even pop culture if it's big enough.  Then onto sports and comics.
